Theory of change can be an powerful tool for mapping how the activities of non-profit organisations lead to social change. A strong theory of change can act as the basis for monitoring and evaluation, drive shared understanding and support marketing and fundraising. In this two day (four hours per day) online course, inFocus trainers will draw upon their experience of developing theories of change with over 100 organisations and programmes around the world, to share how you can develop a powerful and ‘best in class’ theory of change.
This course will help you to:
- Understand what makes a powerful and compelling theory of change
- Learn how to create a theory of change, including free tools and resources to take away
- Take the next steps to use your theory of change for learning, communication and fundraising
- Connect with other organisations that are developing their theories of change
Who Should Apply / Course Requirements
This course is for staff and volunteers of organisations that are interested in learning about or developing a theory of change. No prior knowledge of theory of change is required to join the course, just an interest and willingness in learning the theory of change technique. As the course is run online, a reliable internet connection is also important to fully benefit from this course.
Course Topics, Structure and Timing
This course takes place across two days (four hours per daywith thirty minutes for an optional Q&A) mixing presentations with interactive exercises.
The course is supported by an eLearning course consisting offive modules containing interactive content, illustrations, exercises, videos and audio to give users in-depth and practical knowledge on theory of change. You can access the first module of the course for free here.
