Street Football World

The Challenge

Streetfootballworld (sfw) is a global non-governmental organisation representing an international network of non-profit organisations that strengthen communities and improve the lives of marginalised young people by using sport – and football in particular. sfw has contracted inFocus to work on their two-year project entitled “TEAM UP for NEETS – Innovation for Youth Employability” (TEAM UP). The project fosters connections and collaboration between organisations across Europe that are taking innovative approaches to non-formal education, sport-based youth work and employment training for NEET (not in education, employment or training) young people. The project builds trans-European cooperation and capacity amongst nine key-organisations from across Europe. Members of this group will act as knowledge hubs and develop quality standards in relation to employability initiatives through sport and youth work in Europe.

The Solution

TEAM UP aims to create a toolkit that will serve to transfer knowledge about successful practices related to employability to wider audiences. As part of this toolkit, inFocus has been working with sfw and the nine European organisations to development a common monitoring and measurement framework will help sport for employment (S4E) projects to develop essential M&E tools to better track their social impact. In the initial year of the TEAM UP project, inFocus has led workshops to identify, assess and build a common outcomes framework, develop common indicators, build quantitative and qualitative data collection tools to collect relevant data and identify the current good practice strategies used by these organisations to achieve outcomes related to employability. The resources developed through these workshops will help S4E organisations track social impact and can be used as a resource for sport organisations that would like to start programmes on employability.

Client Comments

“The workshop delivered by inFocus not only helped us all to understand the differences between indicators, outcomes and tools for measurement, but it helped develop relationships between delegates that have become so integral to the production of what should be an extremely useful toolkit for anyone working in the field of football and employability. I would have no hesitation in recommending inFocus to any organisation looking to improve the impact of its programmes.”
