‘Coaching and Teaching LGBT Youth’: by Graham Spacey

Continuing with celebrating Pride month, we wanted to share another entry, this time about our very own Senior Evaluation and Learning Consultant, Graham Spacey, and his work on LGBTQ issues.

Many of those familiar with our work at inFocus will know Graham is the lead with some of our main projects, such as the Sports Unites programme with the Mayor of London. Graham works on many of our sport for change projects due to his extensive background within the sector.

Originally trained as a Physical Education teacher, Graham has over 10 years of experience research and evaluation and 17 years working in teacher training, sport management and sport for development and peace at the University of Brighton. His specialist area of expertise in sport for development and peace comes from his long-standing engagement with Football 4 Peace International, where he was previously Head of Operations.

As part of celebrating Pride month, we wanted to share some of Graham’s work on LGBTQ issues, and literature he has contributed to within the field, you can find links below to two books whre he has contributed chapters with Dr. Jayne Caudwell (University of Bournemouth) and Dr. Gillian Teidemann (University of Brighton):

We feel very lucky to have Graham’s experience and knowledge within the team at inFocus, and we’re proud to highlight his efforts with LGBTQ issues.

Whilst we’re at it, we’d also like to congratulate Graham on the imminent completion of his Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Johannesburg (Faculty of Health Sciences)
