Deciding on your approach to monitoring and evaluation
When deciding on our IMM objectives, learning questions and approaches to monitoring and evaluation, there are a number of different aspects to consider. Overall, we are also considering the evaluability of products and services, which the OECD describes as “The extent to which an activity or project can be evaluated in a reliable and credible fashion” (OECD-DAC 2010; p.21). An evaluability assessment involves reviewing the design, implementation and context of a product, service or activity to assess whether it is ready for evaluation. Many of the factors below would influence both evaluability, and (if an evaluation is possible) the type of evaluation you choose.
